<p>När Maria var åhörare på en kurs för Frida Wallén under
senhösten 2012 (om jag minns rätt) så träffade hon på en supertrevlig jaktlabrador
och sade att ”en sådan vill jag ha”. Labradoren i fråga hette Polka och gjorde
att vi började kolla på jaktlabbar. Under 2013 besökte vi kennlar och tittade
på jaktprov så det blev i princip helt bestämt att nästa valp skulle bli en
liten jaktlabbe.</p>



<p>Verkligheten hann dock före då Polkas matte Anna tragiskt gick bort alltför ung under hösten 2013. Jag hann bara träffa Anna några få gånger men det gör fortfarande ont att tänka på detta. Anna hade bett sina träningskamrater att fixa ett bra hem till Polka och det föll sig så att vi blev tillfrågade. Vi tvekade inte med svaret – Polka fick väldigt gärna flytta till oss!</p>

<p>Polka är en riktig knäppgök med massor med charmiga och knasiga beteenden. Hon ler så hela nospartiet blir rynkigt och alla tänder syns när hon tycker något är lite konstigt eller kanske lite småläskigt. Hennes tassar har så svårt att vara stilla att matte och husse nästan får gråa hår i träningen. Hon kan putta ner mig från soffan om hon tycker jag sitter i vägen. Hon går dit hon vill och sitter man i vägen så är det inte hennes problem. Hon klagar högljutt om man stör henne när ska sova. Hon är godisgalen bortom all rimlighet (vilket kan göra ganska ont i händerna!). Samtidigt är hon ultrasnäll och skulle aldrig göra något ont mot någon. Hon har helt enkelt massor med personlighet som gör avtryck på ett positivt sätt.</p>

<p>Under våren 2018 drabbades Polka en liten hälta bak och vi började gå på rehab hos Evidensia Valla i Linköping. Hältan är nu borta sedan länge men vi har fortsatt att gå på rehabbesök för att se till att hon är bra musklad så att hon slipper hälta framöver. Polka tycker det är lite jobbigt med besök på kliniken och rehaben har inte bara varit bekväm för henne. Hon ler, hon steppar, hon viftar hysteriskt på svansen men går med på allt. Polka har till och med lyckats charma sin sjukgymnast såpass mycket att hon nu har skaffat en jaktlabbe! Det är uppenbarligen något speciellt med vår lilla älsklingslabrador som gör att hon inspirerar sin omgivning!</p>
